29:11 Small Groups in Full Effect!
We’re excited to announce that our 29:11 small groups have launched! We’ve revamped small groups this year — what they do, how they work, and what purpose they serve — and believe that it is in the context of these smaller missional communities that meet at various locations and various times of the week, authentic friendships are made, lives are being transformed into the likeness of Christ, and God’s kingdom is made visible in the world.
Joining a small group is SIMPLE. Just follow these 3 easy steps:
- FIND A SMALL GROUP NEAR YOU. Check out the listing below and find a group that’s perfect for you. We’ve got all sorts of groups that meet in Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, and Mercer Island.
- EMAIL THE LEADER. After you find a small group that looks interesting (or convenient), email the small group leader and let them know you’re interested. They will email you back with more details for their group and directions to their meeting location so you can check them out.
- VISIT THE GROUP. Attend the small group, build relationships, and grow in your faith and walk with God!

Location Change // Born Identity Young Adult Retreat
***IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR YOUNG ADULT RETREAT ATTENDEES***
Hi everyone,
Due to inclement weather down in Olympia (they have received 6″ of snow, and it’s still coming down), we are making a last minute change to the location of the retreat to Camp Sambica right in our backyard on Lake Sammamish! We praise God for the last minute availability of the campsite, and it’s further confirmation that God wants this retreat to happen! As promised, we are looking out for your safety
. This is excellent news as Camp Sambica has excellent facilities and has recently been renovated. Everything else regarding the retreat will remain the same, just the location has changed from 1.5 hours away to 20 minutes away!
Here’s the address to the retreat site:
Sambica (http://www.sambica.com/)
4114 W Lk Sammamish Pkwy SE
Bellevue, WA 98008
We understand the natural urge is to go home at the end of the day to sleep in your own bed since the facility is so close to home, but we encourage everyone to stay at the retreat facility over night! Spending a weekend away will help build community, foster an atmosphere of openness, and also create deeper relationships. We want this for all of you, and it will be a great weekend to get away!
If you have any concerns/questions, please send me an email, text, or give me a call (206)349-9989. I will have my phone with me at all times, and no time is too late to call or text. I hope you are all excited – we are in for a supernatural weekend!!
God Bless,
Kevin

How to Help in Haiti
In the aftermath of Haiti’s worst earthquake in 200 years, we urge you to pray for the people of Haiti. Thousands have died, and the humanitarian situation is desperate. Before the earthquake, 80 percent of Haiti’s population was already living in extreme poverty and hunger. The country has suffered a surge in food prices in 2008, a rapid downturn in its economy, and a string of natural disasters. The situation is now far more desperate.
Please consider how you can help in relief efforts by giving monetarily. Lighthouse will be taking a special offering this Sunday during both services and partnering with World Vision to support Haiti disaster relief. You can also donate directly to World Vision here.
Praying for Jason…
Many of you know that our brother, Jason Wong, was seriously injured last month after being hit by a drunk driver. Please keep him in prayer as he undergoes surgery this Friday, Jan 15th. If you’d like to show your support, you can visit him at Harborview Medical Center in room 811. You can also donate financially to help support Jason and his family. A fund has been setup at Wells Fargo called “Save Jade West Cafe.”

Are You Ready for THE JESUS RETROLUTION?
Welcome to THE JESUS RETROLUTION. The term “RETROLUTION” combines two words, retro and revolution. The word “retro” derives from the Latin prefix retro, meaning “backwards” or “in past times.” In today’s culture, it has become a popular term used to describe, denote or classify culturally outdated or aged trends, modes, or fashions, from the overall postmodern past, but have since that time become functionally or superficially the norm once again. A “revolution” (from the Latin revolutio, “a turn around”) is a fundamental and often times radical change in ways of thinking and behaving that takes place in a relatively short period of time.
Simply put, Jesus was a revolutionary – All that He was, all that he embodied and everything that He stood for – radically changed the course of human history. And we believe that that same Jesus – who came to this world fully-God and fully-man to serve the needy, to heal the sick, to feed the poor, and to save the lost – is still as relevant today as He was 2000 years ago. Yet somewhere along the way, the message of Jesus and the cross has been distorted and watered down. And many so-called Christians today fail to live out everything that Jesus died for. We’ve missed the point. And we are no longer light in the darkness. We are no longer hope for the hopeless.
THE JESUS RETROLUTION is a movement to put a stop to this. It’s a movement that introduces no new ideas. Instead, it’s simply a movement that re-introduces Jesus of Nazareth 2000 years ago in His purest and most authentic form, a true revolutionary. It’s a movement that revisits the reality of our gospel at it’s core. And as we ourselves begin to recapture and reclaim the true meaning and the true essence of the gospel of Jesus Christ for our own lives, we will then become advocates and conduits of a world-changing social revolution that will rock our generation.
We believe our generation is hungry for change, and the time for change is now. We believe our generation is thirsty for the truth, and the moment for the truth is here. We believe our generation is desperate for Jesus, and the hour for Jesus is today.
THE JESUS RETROLUTION starts with you. Don’t just witness it…experience it. Join THE JESUS RETROLUTION today!
