About 29:11

29:11 is the young adult career ministry at Lighthouse Christian Church.  The name 29:11 is derived from the scripture verse in Jeremiah 29:11 that says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We believe that God has a plan and a purpose for each of our lives that far exceeds any plan or purpose we might dream up for ourselves.  Whether we are engineers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, mechanics, developers, artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, project managers or stay-at-home-moms – we were each created to live a life of significance and purpose.

As we experience more and more of God’s transforming love and power in our lives, our hope is that we would each discover our own unique God-given calling and passion and purpose in life and embrace a lifestyle of uninhibited commitment and passion to love God, to love people, and to bring about positive change in the world for the glory of God.

We are a community of young career adults being transformed into Jesus followers who are committed to living out the gospel and sharing God’s love with those in our spheres of influence.

OUR VALUES:

  • PURSUING GOD. We are constantly and continually being pursued by a loving and gracious God who desires relationship with us.  In response, we desire to know and experience this God more fully by pursuing Him with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength through a life of worship, scripture and prayer.
  • BUILDING AUTHENTIC RELATIONSHIPS. The triune God created us for intimate relationship with himself and with others.  Knowing we were created for community, we live transparently and seek to build authentic relationships for the purpose of loving people, growing in our faith, and sharing the good news of Jesus with others.
  • EMBRACING OUR PURPOSE & PASSION. We were made by God and for God, created for a purpose.  Only in God will we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, our passion and our destiny. We desire to experience life to its fullest potential and to make a positive impact in our world by living life on purpose and with a passion.
  • ENGAGING IN SELFLESS SERVICE. Jesus came to serve, not to be served.  He demonstrated his immense love for us by pouring himself out for the sake of others.  As followers of Jesus, we’re committed to engaging our church family and the world in selfless service so that others might know and experience God’s love for them in tangible ways.
