HARBOR Serving Opportunity

maikusan | November 14, 2009

The 29:11 young adult career ministry is excited about an upcoming service opportunity to partner with the Lighthouse Christian Church HARBOR ministry this December 12th. Below are some details:

What: HARBOR serving opportunity.

Description: HARBOR was started in April 2003 to care for “widows” and “orphans” in the Lighthouse body. Since that time, more than 100 volunteers have invested hundreds of hours to serve those in Lighthouse who need assistance and encouragement.

When: Saturday Dec 12th - 7:30am to noon. Volunteers meet at 7:30am to grab a quick breakfast with each other, pray for the service time, and discuss the service plans for the day.

What type of service projects are available?: Tasks vary depending on the family being supported. Previous projects have included yard maintenance, interior and exterior home projects such as painting, re-organization, gutter cleaning, etc.)

If you are interested in assisting with HARBOR, please RSVP to events@twentynine11.com by Saturday Dec 5th.

Thanks in advance for your consideration to serve.

In Him,
29:11 Activities Team

In this three part series, we’ve covered the man, the message and now in the final part of “The Jesus Retrolution: A Fresh Look at The Man, The Message, and The Mission” series, Royce will be speaking on “The Mission.”

If you thought the first two were awesome and life transforming, well wait until you’re a part of this one.  Powerful Words will be preached and the Holy Spirit will move hearts again and transforming lives and healing wounds.  But that’s not all (I had you at the Holy Spirit, you say?), we have a special guest performance by Hip-Hop recording artist and producer, XOLA MALIK (formerly known as KID SENSATION)!

Generation of Potential

maikusan |

Thy Kingdom Come
My name is Kevin Chou, and I serve on the core team for 29:11.  I’m a firm believer that there is a special call on this generation.  A generation that is sensitive to the Spirit, yet one of the more apathetic generations towards things of God.  At the heart of 29:11, we want to see a revival take place in the hearts of the 21-35 years-olds.  I believe that the Holy Spirit is moving in such a way that is equipping His people to do the impossible for Him.  When we do the impossible with dependence on the Holy Spirit, we glorify God in our lives because only He can perform such miracles.  Matthew 10:8 says “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons.  Freely you received, freely give.”  This commandment is still as relevant today as it ever was, and we have the authority in Jesus name to carry out what He’s commanded us to do.  When God speaks to us, and tells us to do something in His name, He’s already given us the ability to carry it out.  We just cannot doubt what He’s spoken to us.  Within 29:11, we believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, that He can perform such miracles through us.  We don’t claim to be healers, prophets, or anything like that, but we trust that the Holy Spirit is living and active, and that He chooses to use us because that is what brings Him glory.  I personally believe there is so much untapped potential within this generation to do amazing things for His Kingdom.  As Bill Johnson says it best, “we owe the world an encounter with God.”

Life Stories

maikusan |

We are going to try something new here on the blog.  Over the next few weeks, and hopefully months, we’ll be sharing life stories of people at 29:11, who experienced transformations to their hearts and lives because of their relationship with Jesus Christ.

It is our hope that the stories shared here will bring encouragement to you.  We’d love to hear your stories and feature them here as well (with your permission, of course).  You can send them to info@twentynine11.com.

Here is the template to follow if you are someone who needs some structure (like me):

The Story
- Provide the readers brief background and how it relates to the experience you are sharing

Redemption
- How did Jesus work in your life?

Now/Future
- What does it mean for the future and how does this change you to be a new person?

Now, if you prefer to share His redemptive story in your life in a different way, we love it!  We love creativity here.

To submit: Send your story to info@twentynine11.com.  By submitting, you are giving us permission to publish it on this blog.

  • God’s Mercies March 10, 2010
Less than the least of all God’s mercies.” This was the motto 17th-century English poet and clergyman George Herbert engraved on his signet ring, and it was the phrase with which he signed his letters and books. Jacob had spoken these words when he pondered God’s goodness despite his own sin and shame: “I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies […]
