Exceeding Expectation - Part 3

maikusan | July 11, 2009

Continuing from Exceeding Expectation - Part 2.  Upon realizing her true purpose and identity in Christ, she tells her entire village of what happened at the well.

The village believes, and now she is in community with them.  She is no longer an outcast who traveled to the well at noon to avoid people.  We were all created to be in community with believers and constant relationship with God.  Through the community we help each other to grow, to encourage, to support one another, and ultimately to be an instrument in our Redeemer’s hands.

In our first The Well gathering, we spoke on our vision for a 29:11 community that is contagious, Christ-centered, supernatural, inclusive and joyfully generous.  Our vision is to become a passionate community of young career adults who reflect God’s abundant love through vibrant worship, radical faith and selfless service with the hope of transforming our generation.  Wouldn’t you desire for a community like this?

Join us for one of the upcoming events and find out more.

Exceeding Expectation - Part 2

maikusan | July 8, 2009

Continuing from Exceeding Expectation - Part 1.  Upon receiving the living water, something significant changes in the heart of the Samaritan woman at the well.

She no longer hold onto her old life, she leaves her water jar.  She doesn’t need it any more, she’s received something so much more fulfilling and so much greater.  When we invite Jesus into our lives and allow Him to search our hearts and expose our wounds, He comes in to heal us.  Heal us whole so that we are no longer fixed on searching for God-replacements to satisfy us, but freely begin living with an overflowing joy and purpose for Him.

Jesus wants to complete you and he wants to exceed all of your expectations, because he knows you better than you know yourself and he wants what’s best for you.  Often our fears and wounds hold us back from taking that step of faith to trust and follow Jesus in all we do.  I may not know you, but God does, and Jesus loves you.  He knows your fears and wounds, and He loves you so much that He wants to heal them.

The Samaritan woman leaves her water jar and runs back to the village, telling everyone about Jesus - the good news.  It’s no longer about her past, her shame and her sins, but her heart is beating again with a passion.  A passion for Christ.

If you were made whole again by Jesus, what’s the new purpose? New passion? What will make you come alive?

If you are reading this right now and not yet in a relationship with Jesus, or that you’ve been a Christian for a while but have been far from Jesus.  If you want to begin/re-commit a relationship with God and live your life to the fullest that He has planned for you.  Pray the following prayer and we believe that your life will never be the same again.

“Lord Jesus, welcome to my world.  Come into my life, come into my heart.  Forgive me of all my sins and make me a new person.  I receive you now, as the Leader and Savior of my life.  I boldly declare, that I will never be the same again and I will follow you the rest of my days.  In Jesus’ name. Amen”

If you prayed that prayer, let us know >>.  If you are in the Seattle area, we’d love to meet you at one of our future gatherings!

Stay tuned for Exceeding Expectation - Part 3

Exceeding Expectation - Part 1

maikusan | July 7, 2009

How often in our lives do we chase after something that we think is the best there is, only to find out that it isn’t.  Or some times, we realize it’s actually bad for us?

In our 2nd gathering at The Well, Royce spoke on how our own foolishness of thinking that we know best, causes us to often sell ourselves short of what God really wants for our lives.  God is not just about satisfying us, he’s not just about meeting our needs, he’s not just about giving us what we ask for, he’s about going above and beyond.  He wants to pour out his goodness and his favor and blessings into our lives so much so that it would overflow and start spill out and begin to affect others around us.

The story of the Samaritan woman at the well.  Her encounter with Jesus gave her something beyond just quenching the physical thirst, but a flow of living water that hits the soul.

What are you filling your life with in an attempt to satisfy that thirst?  What is the name of the well you are drinking out of? Is it life giving?

Jesus is more than enough.  Will you receive Him?

If you want to begin a relationship with God and live your life to the fullest that He has planned for you.

Amen”

  • God’s Mercies March 10, 2010
Less than the least of all God’s mercies.” This was the motto 17th-century English poet and clergyman George Herbert engraved on his signet ring, and it was the phrase with which he signed his letters and books. Jacob had spoken these words when he pondered God’s goodness despite his own sin and shame: “I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies […]
